Lager with Sea Salt
Salt crystals on the face mingle with the first few sips of a post-surf beer, offering a delicate salinity. Surf Logger provides that sublime experience with no surf required (but still encouraged)! Australian hops create tropical notes reminiscent of the world’s best surf beaches. Kiss of acid, a gentle pucker, hints of apricot, melon, passion fruit, & fresh cut grass. Summer in a glass. A collaboration with Aquaholics Surf Shop [Kennebunk, ME].

Canned 2021/07/15
Pours a very large frothy creamy 2.5 finger head with moderate retention, sticky lacing, semi hazy med golden pale color

Nose the hops come out first, Australian fruity slight tropical hops, general citrus, some melon even, generic tropical, into light sweet malt, mild spicy hop character

Taste brings hops as well up front, tropical fruit, mango, touch of papaya, generic citrus as well, and hint of grapefruit, pithy, stone fruit as it warms, with some spicy grassy hop characters late, med-lighter bitterness, light sweet malt with mostly pale malt and a touch of sweet toasted malt, little sea salt on the back end, finishes fairly dry with a flash of salt on the back of the tongue, and spicy hops with a med bitterness

Mouth is med bod, a bit soft lager like, med to a bit higher fizzy carb

Overall pretty good, hops get a bit aggressive for an American lager, overpowering the nice malt and lager characters, but salt adds a nice touch as well
