Im at a point in the night where this beer made me want to get away from 2x IPA's for the remainder of the night if not forever. The label is boring... the beer is average... but thank god the company is outstanding.
This just in... sources say we have a piano filled with beer...

Picked this up at the same time that the Constant Reassurance was released. I was expecting this to be more dank and weed-like with the "Green" reference in the name but as it turned out, this was much more balanced and mellow than the hop bomb I envisioned. It was a relatively typical example of this style but hid the alcohol well and had more than enough flavor to it from start to finish!
The most dank attribute of this beer was the pour, as it was quite cloudy with a dark gold hue and a fair amount of head. Enough lacing could be seen in the webs along the back of my pint glass and the aroma was nice but not terribly strong - citrus juice, earthy hops, and some pine. The taste had all of that along with some garlic, scallions, onion, and grapefruit to pack in a bit of punch. A bit of grass and sweet malt rounded things out as the carbonation was low and the body medium, allowing the odd but harmonious mix of flavors to show through before the metallic earthiness of the hops softly emerged in the aftertaste.
This was strong but deceptively so as the booze was well-hidden and only showed up on my breath one I finished off the contents of the can. A slick, oily resin was left behind once I finished this off as it seemed like a good amount of hop oils were used here. This may be a bit sharp or abrasive for some fans more accustomed to the softer examples that have taken hold as of late but like the other beers that I've had from Greenpoint, there wasn't anything wrong with this. More fun stuff from a place that now can count me as one of their fans!

Can poured into fluted snifter.
Hazed yellow straw, foamy white head, just off pure-white. Settles into floating islands.
In the aroma I get floral, herbal, and a bit of citrus rind followed by some earthy pine resins.
Flavor is mainly citrus, grapefruit zest sweetness pokes through an otherwise earthy and bitter flavor. Orange and grapefruit rind and pith. Some earthy resinous pine and a hint of sweet malt remains.
Moderate carbonation and medium body. Ever so slight bit of syrupiness.
Good brew, nice flavor, reasonably balanced for a big and bold DIPA.
