Gotta hand it to Greenpoint - they know how to brew a great beer inside of a funky can that you can't forget. This was sweet to a t but not to excess, as the booze and resin was enough to keep it at bay, and ensure that this would be more than a one-trick pony. It wasn't a publicity stunt as the images on the can would indicate, but this grew on me as it warmed up and quickly became one of the better brews that I've had from them.
Good pour to this as the beer was golden, fairly cloudy, and topped off with a near-perfect head. Tons of lacing was left behind in the form of solid rings that slid down into the next. A good amount of vanilla, orange, cream, sherbert, and mild stone fruit in the nose with all of those coming through in the taste in a fairly unified flavor. A sense of marmalade and honey came over me as this warmed up and while it was a proverbial "publicity stunt", this was so darned taste and easygoing that I had a hard time pacing myself through it. This felt more like dessert than an American Double / Imperial IPA, since the sweetness was that strong here and the alcohol wasn't terribly noticeable.
A good amount of body and light carbonation allowed the flavors and hops to shine through as this wasn't terribly dank at the same time. Others may not find enjoyment in this but I thought this was fun and tasty and at the end of the day, what more could you ask for in a beer. The label turned out to be the icing on the proverbial cake!

Appearance - dark hazy brown. Almost murky, like muddy water. Not much head.
Smell - very sweet like honey, maybe a little overripe melon or peach.
Taste - extremely sweet. Not bitter at all, but just kind of sickeningly sweet. A bit of candied fruit at the end.
Mouthfeel - light carbonation, full bodied. Definitely chewy.
Overall - not into it. Too sweet, not enough anything else. Definitely disappointing given how good most of their beers are, but this was kind of gross, top to bottom.
