Served from 11oz bottles by mailorder straight from the brewer. Appears transparent dark golden to light orange and foams like a lager creating a large white head which disperses quickly. Lively carbonation.
A very sweet nose: citrusy, malty, slight caramel.
Surprising and pleasant in the mouth. A nice crips pilsener backbone plus a very detectable honey note. Citrusy and fruity aroma hops and a mild bitterness.
This is an exceptionally well balanced IPL (if it's even a lager, I couldn't tell the yeast from everything else that was going on with the flavors). Well crafted beer, light and sessionable yet interesting and appealing, with surprising notes coming both from hops and malts. I'm not sure this is an American Double Pilsner, but it's very good.
