2016 vintage. Poured from a wax-topped bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Inky black pour with a finger of off-white head. Nice lacing... a little on the thin side. Love the bottle artwork.
S: Rich and roasty. Coconut, espresso, and booze.
T.F: Surprisingly coconut forward. Chocolate, light coffee, and some residual vanilla/oak and bourbon. Some sweetness up front but balanced by the roast. Toasted coconut throughout which for me is a positive. Medium bodied at most. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Cocoa and coconut at the finish.
O: A little bit like drinking an Almond Joy. Coconut/chocolate dominant and a good bit of the bourbon has likely aged off. Would love to have tried it fresh as well. Held up well.

Pours a thin black with very minimal head. Coconut, booze, and a slight hint of coffee and spice in the nose. Straight up boozy coconut and that's fine by me. Not familiar with the distillery they got the barrels from. A little thin on the mouthfeel. Overall I think this a well done barrel aged Russian imperial stout and I'm happy to have gotten one. Hopefully they can make it even better if they make it again.
