Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy amber color with a half-finger of effervescent white head. The head is gone instantly, leaving no lacing as it settles into a thin ring.
The aroma brings notes of oak, vanilla, honey, and barnyard funk up front. Then comes a wave of tart lemon and citrus. The back end is grassy and subtly hopped.
The flavor brings notes of green tea with lemon, oak and vanilla, with some yeast and slight funk on the finish.
The feel is medium-light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Very oily with a lingering tartness.
Overall, a pretty solid saison but not a relatively noteworthy one. It's subtly tart and funky but comes sweeter than expected. At 7.4% ABV this one is a bit hard to finish.
