one the best black IPAs I have had with the perfect balance of rich coffee, toasty notes balanced with loads of hop notes. An absolute joy to drink which I am so praying that makes a comeback!!

Black full body...brown/tan head...some turbidity you can see fine lighter colored sediment settle against the glassware
Deep hoppy smell with a bit of alcohol in there...deeper still maybe something vegetal in there
Has an ever so mild stout quality, I like that it is understated in that way, very hoppy...full flavored and bitter, bitterness stays on the palate...
Easy for me to drink, a very good impression on me of the style

16 oz can was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger off white head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Resiny pine, ashy, roasted, milk chocolate, and toasted malts.

Taste: Resiny, ashy bitterness, smoke, milk chocolate, and roasted malts.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium to full bodied, ashy, a little bitterness, a little chewy, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Nice take on the cascade ale. Will enjoy another can before it's gone.

More of a mildly hopped stout than a black IPA.

Quintessential black IPA. Very citrus hop-forward aroma and taste, which is key with black IPAs. You don't want it to be too stout-like. Perfect combination of roast-y and hoppy flavors. Great one!
