Fading Light is a dark ale, layered with caramel and toasted malts, and aged for over a year with Brettanomyces. Flavors of dark fruit blend with notes of coffee and chocolate over a rich, earthy background. We hope you will raise a glass with us, celebrating the cycle of the sun’s fading light and the promise of its return.

Fading Light -- 500 ml
Bottled: December 6th, 2015
Look: Dark amber, fairly opaque although you can see through a little. Not a particularly prominent head.
Smell: Smells similar to a Belgian ale. Aroma not that strong, couldn’t really pick up on that much. Maybe a hint of chocolate.
Taste: way more complex than the smell. Strong yeasty aftertaste / swallow. The yeast fizzles at the back of your tongue for a number of moments. Mild sourness throughout the beer sip. Decent amount of funkness present in the beer. The yeast / earthy flavors are definitely the dominant players in this one. The beer sizzles while in your mouth. This intensifies as you swallow and slowly dissipates into a refreshing bitter finish. Not the normal hoppy bitterness that you may expect from and IPA, totally different. Very earthy.
Overall this beer is definitely an enjoyable different brew. I didn't really pick up on the dark fruit or chocolate nodes that they mentioned I should've. The yeasty earthy flavors were way more noticeable. If you like earthy bitterness or yeast, than definitely pick it up. I’m not sure I could drink this beer 5 nights in a row, but it’s worth picking up for a try.

Lucked out into two bottles from a friend. Dark pour, nice head but didn't last long and left some lacing. Overall taste was somewhat different than what I am used to from Foundation. LOTS of tastes going on for me. Hard to describe. Overall I am glad I scored two bottles. Can't wait to share the other one with friends. Hope they make some more.

From 500 ml bottle purchased at brewery.
Deep dark brown color, creamy tan head.
Light brett smell with a hint of alcohol.
Balanced taste of caramel, maybe molasses, some brett, sour funk.
Feel has a bit of the Foundation tang, but not overpowering.
Overall, this is a slow sipping, full bodied winter beer.
