Our Helles lager is a nod to the glorious golden beers of Bavaria. Continental hops balance the bready, soft malt, and the lagering smooths everything out. Finishing crisp and clean, Hansel just begs for a second taste.

Canned 9/10/19
Pours a fizzy light head that fades quickly, mostly clear sight hazy straw orange color

Nose brings sweet malt, grainy sweet cereal and a touch straw, little doughy and hint of mineral, light corn DMS, just a hint of herbal hops, a bit of honey malt

Taste brings more grainy sweet malt, cereal grain and straw, very hoppy, herbal spicy earthy hops with medium bitterness getting spicy almost high bitterness late, nice soft lager

Mouth is med bod, a tad astringent, medium light carb, soft lager

Overall ok but not up to style, way too hoppy more like pilsner, malts and lager were decent, low carb, hops really overpower it

Split a 4 pack of these with JLindros. The bottom of my can has a 'canned on 09/10/19' which is kind of a bummer.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice slightly chill hazed gold hue with a fat two finger white head that faded a moderate pace to leave light lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of grassy, floral hops, slightly earthy and spicy. Little sweet with almost flashes of honey, big bready notes in addition to some fruity hops.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with more of those floral, grassy, fruity hops. Big bready notes again with a little less of that honey sweetness. Little bit of cereal grains on the finish in addition to just a very, very light lingering bitterness.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, clean, body is lighter which leads to this coming across as slightly thin.

O - Overall this was a solid enough German Helles. I certainly wish it wasn't almost 4 months old, or that they'd at least noted the canning dates on the four pack sheets. Still, I'd probably pick up a four pack of this if I was at the brewery again and it was fresh.

Had on tap. Darker gold clear body with a finger of white foam. Very bready in the nose, with good malts, grains, honey, and slight floral hops. Taste is much the same, but really delivers on the bready and grainy malts, has great depth but is not heavy and is plenty crisp. Otherwise the feel is smooth and warm.

A: Pours a golden yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Bready malt and grain up front along with some light fruitiness and spicy floral hops

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the grain and spicy floral hops and then slowly picks up light fruitiness and bready malt. Finishes with lingering grain and bready malt

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A very nice American version of a German helles. Super drinkable. Clean. Definitely worth checking out
