I've had a number of fruity sours that I liked, and I'm always up for plum, so I'm looking forward to this. Nice orangey-pink color, not much head. Fruity smell, no surprise there. Sips like a sweet fruit juice drink, so far so good, oh, wait, no. When it hits the back of my tongue I get a jarring bitter note - my first thought was "is that stevia???" As I continue drinking, the bitter note is less prominent, but I am still wary. By the time I'm halfway through, it's pretty much faded away. Somewhat thick mouthfeel adds to the sense of drinking a juice blend.
I'll probably drink the other one in my fridge but I won't buy again, and I won't buy another sour with added lactose for a long time. If this was JuiceAdvocate I'd rate it higher. But this is BeerAdvocate, and I'm torn. It does what it does very well, but it just doesn't taste like beer.

From a 16 oz. can sampled on Jan 8, 2022.
The appearance has this sort of violet amber color with a modest head that fades quickly. Looks like a fruit-based brew.
The nose is all about plums, strawberry, and raspberry with only the faintest breaded malt character way below the fault line.
The mouthfeel is light-to-medium.
It is actually fairly tasty and not very tart or sour. The fruit characters propel it forward but it does not end up tasting like fruit juice like so many others in this style.
