1st review of this beer on BA. Had this in the summer of 2018 on the way back down from camping. Was one of the better beers in the flight.
Pours a cloudy yellow with elements of amber to it. 1/3" white head. Aroma was all bittering hops, failing to deliver on the commercial tug job claims of stone fruit.
Taste is better, it does deliver most of what you've come to expect from Simcoe. Even though its a session ale with light, pale toasted malt, little bit of carapils, crystal maybe, it carries the bitterness of Simcoe without being problematic. Crisp throughout. Little hits of pine, grapefruit rind, lemongrass on and on. When you think of a session beer, this fits the bill for the most part. I would probably lower the maltiness on it, but if you like a more chewy all bittering hops session ipa, I would definitely recommend this to you. For the most part though, Oregon never got beyond those ibu war days, and this one probably clocks in around 60 which is just fine by me.
