New one. I'm too busy to add. Can. Golden with lasting ring lace and island. Peach melon pineapple citrus aroma with some grassiness. Sweet peachy with some fruity tang and soft melon pineapple citrus finish. Soft and light and extremely delicious.

On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston, VT. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow/orange color. Bar pour’s slim head. Quickly died off. The smell started off with some white pepper, dried pear, light herbal, sweet grass, light lemon. Light Belgian yeasty (semi-breadiness). The taste was semi-sticky sweet combining the Belgian yeastiness to the pear and grass. White pepper spice seems to slide a bit in the background. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light and nice. Overall, patersbier is what Four Quarters is calling the style of this beer, but "pater" means "Father" from Latin. Patersbiers are "session Belgian ales built for the Spring to Summer time weather."

Four Quarters "Opus Humulus"
on tap @ Waterworks, Winooski, VT
$7.50 / 10 oz.

Clear deep gold beneath a long standing head of bright white. Lacing is quite nice. Lighty sweet grainy and Hoppy aroma. Semi-resinous, piney, grassy, tomato plant-like. Flavor follows with more malt, but also more vegetal character. Somewhat floral and fruity as well. A stiff bitterness balances it, and it finishes dry with residual floral, grassy, and mineralish & earthy hop notes.

The beer is very light and almost a touch watery. The beer offers grainy malts while being quite very phenolic with a decent bready sweetness that lingers onto a lightly sweet finish.

On tap at the Farmhouse. Clear yellow body. Smell is grassy hops and a little bit perfumy and floral. Taste is grassy and green. A bit vegetal. Bitter finish that has some of that perfume character again. Very light. Not really unpleasant, but lacking in virtues that make it worth its roughness.

Absolutely fascinating effect here from elements I won't pretend to understand or pick apart. But the result is a extremely clean taste which really works with well served cold (this isn't one of those you have to feel would be better warmer) and delivers an whelm of spearmint or something close to it that is nonetheless both hoppy and discernibly Belgian. Really striking beer and unmistakeable.
