Pours clear orange with a monster head. Clouds up a bit with the back-end pour. Very faint smoky notes. Truly 'lightly smoked' like it says on the can. Light citrus as well. Tastes like a filtered IPA.

appearance is an almost clear golden/copper color with a fluffy white head that has excellent retention and leaves fat patches of lace this beer is certainly strange - but im pretty sure thats what your signing up for when drinking a citra hopped smoked red. there is certainly some orange and other citric character that you would expect from citra, but that definitely takes the back seat when compared to the smoky and malt flavors. super interesting beer, well executed.

Pours slightly hazy rusty red with about a thumb of frothy white head. Break is slow and there is the thinnest of collars when it finishes. In spite of that, the lacing is impressive.
Smell brings the promised smoke first. Mellow and nice like being in a cabin with a nice fire going. Then you can pick up some light hops and some malts.
Taste see the smokiness blending with the Citra hops and the malts to give a nice mellow taste that is neither too smoky not too hoppy. The malts make sure there isn't too much bitterness either.
The feel is medium bodied and the carbonation is about medium as well. Finish is a touch smoky and bitter, and lasts a while before fading.
Well,I wasn't sure what to expect from this, burning the end it was a real nice beer. Not a huge fan of beers that are smoked, I was happy to see that this was handled very nicely. I'm not sure I've had a miss from Four Quarters yet.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt red color with a sly finger’s worth of foamy white head. Dissipates nicely. Somewhat even and nice. Stringy lace. The aroma takes on some light smoky sweet meat, somewhat like a raunchier but not so much cause there’s some toffee and caramel malts that seem to beg to differ. Grassy hops play lightly with the intake of it all. The flavor mostly blends all of the previously mentioned aromas to boot but the sweet meatiness does fall a little bit shorter here. Sly grassy to malty sweet yet semi-smoked aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good, not high nor low, just places just right. Overall, nice red ale with some smokiness added.
