Can to tulip, the appearance was a glossy bright pink/orange/amber color with a fair transparency about it. A quickly dissipating small white semi-fizzy head. No lace.
The aroma had some semi-sweet lemony character meshing with some piney sweetness and some floral sweet blended subtle cherry skin-like quality wrapping around some vanilla bean sweetness.
The flavor slightly leaned towards the sweet side but gently allowed enough sour and tart hints to fulfill its destiny as an American wild ale. A clean spiciness then enough yet light in its aftertaste bearing notes of lemon, pine, vanilla and cherries.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and some dryness yet some stickiness. Finishes semi-dry with some woody berry sweetness glossing over some vanilla bean.
Overall, what a wonderful original idea for a wild ale! Well done Brian and company, I would love to have again.
