Can from the Advent box.
Inky black color with a huge frothy tan head that persists.
Coffee roast chocolate and hints of vanilla on the nose and palette. Creamy mouth thick body. Nice sipper.

NO can date
Pours a huge frothy pillowy brown head almost 3 fingers with long retention, whispy lacing, basically black color
Nose brings lactose sugar out front, chocolate milk, a bit of roast, nutty coffee, a bit of burnt lactose and dulce de leche with a little caramel, lots of chocolate, a bit of char roast notes, light maple cream candies
Taste brings coffee up front, sweet candy like coffee, roasted grains and roasted coffee, a bit of char, getting some spicy hop notes and bitter roast, a bit fudgey with big milk chocolate and burnt lactose, maybe a little acrid like roast but not much, some caramel candy but not too sweet, a smooth nutty coffee in the background with more of the sweet maple notes,
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, creamy lactose, high fizzy carb, touch of warming alcohol
Overall it's OK, nothing special, coffee was nice, roast was good but got a bit too burnt, maple was OK wish there was a bit more

A very nice stout, but not my absolute favorite. The look and smell were great, but I found the coffee flavor up front to be a touch too sharp for my taste (due to the cold-brew addition, I imagine) and then at the finish I was left with a sticky-sweet flavor that felt unbalanced. But if you like a coffee-heavy stout that's on the sweeter side, this one's a good bet! I still enjoyed it quite a bit, despite it not quite clicking on all cylinders for my taste buds.

The aroma is primarily straight up imperial milk stout, lots of lactose sugar.
I could taste the other elements though. Up front the lactose was prominent but the maple was there too. The coffee at the finish was fairly subdued. Objectively this was quite good, all the elements are here and harmonious. Subjectively, there was not enough coffee. Never enough coffee.

Lots of coffee and roast in the nose, much more milk chocolate in the taste, with a roasted malt coming through later on. It has a soft sweetness, great body, and zero faults. There are better stouts, buy not very many.

16 oz. can with no canning date.
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch tan head over a near black body with fleeting lacing. Head is killed by the lactose after a few minutes. Nose of coffee, maple, dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and slight fruit. Taste mirrors nose very nicely with chocolate and maple at the forefront and finish. Feel is not as nice as I'd hoped (with the head gone and taking the carbonation with it) but still very tasty. Overall, I wonder how nice this would have been with a little less lactose.
Cheers!!!
