DATE: November 15, 2018... OCCASION: celebrating the first official snow of the school year with a beer that weds well with the unveiling of this year's Word of the Year: toxic.... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... pours a mushroom cloud of creamy white head atop a sallow, hazy brown body too dense to see its effervescence... a ridiculous waft of grapefruit, papaya, and mango slams like a tropical tidal wave--a metaphor, but no hyperbole... fainter citrus of orange and lemon... its malt base is cracker, basically crushed under the hops weight... speaking of weight, this crunches with a pulpish consistency and a full-bodied, vigorous rush to the throat... at 8%, worth sipping, and with its texture, has its own pace car built in... the pineapple and grapefruit are juicy, BIG, and encompassing--a joy to mull over and worthy of conversation... thanks again to Jeff for another Vermont gift... this one is worth seeking, a hop bomb that avoids the trite resin drip from many others in the genre... this one lives up to its label, and in the process reveals a ton of tropical fruits...

Interesting beer. Has a butterscotch taste for me. Cool can art, that we most likely will never see again.

not hazy enough!! loll im sure some will hate on this brew since its not murky enough but got dayummm theres an excellent balance of citric fruity and tropical flavors mixing with an almost honey like malty sweetness that creates this candied fruit quality, some herbaceous/flloral green qualities and a mellow piney bitterness rounding it out.
