Pretty cool color obviously. The ecto green beer has same color as slimmer from Ghostbusters. I don’t get a ton of citrus on the nose. The taste is crisp and remarkably drinkable for the alc. this is a quality beer.

I have generally found Four Quarters to be middle-of-the-road when it comes to their IPAs, meaning some are quite good, but some fail to meet the standards that the best they've done have previously set. That's not the hardest problem to overcome, but knowing that they have not one, but two beers that market themselves with a weird visual gimmick makes it difficult to take them seriously. Or, perhaps the point is that they want to have fun. No way, beer isn't about having fun... it's serious!

Anyway, this is a Mosaic/Ella hopped IPA clocking in at 7% that just so happens to pour an opaque green color. The green on order here is a slightly-pale, ghoulish version of said color, but there is actually a really nice cap of strikingly-white foam. Perhaps it's just the contrast with the unusual color, but this head seems superb to me. It builds up quickly and rarely lets up, leaving behind tiered lace as it dissipates. I actually think this is quite a nice-looking beer. Sure, it's probably designed to resemble Hi-C's classic Ecto Cooler (with a CO2-influenced cap of foamy goodness, of course), but it's apropos of this season and I have a sense of humor (I guess), so I'm gonna go ahead and say this looks dope.

The nose is a hefty dose of what we should all expect from Mosaic at this point, with the subtle trappings of Ella backing the proceedings up. It's fruity and lithe with notes of tangerine, papaya, and guava, backed up by a subtle citrusy note, light earthy spice and a hit of chive/green onion at the tail-end of each whiff I take. Ella is a polarizing hop, but the earthy/funky element of Mosaic bolsters it into its own thing here. For every bright fruity moment, there is an equalizing (and strangely appealing) earthy/spicy/savory/chive-y thing happening that keeps me on my toes.

On the tongue, this is a surprisingly dry and crisp. I don't really know why this surprises me, but it just seemed like something would have to go wrong with this beer at some point... I'm biased against it based on how it looks, I'm sure, but that should mean my review carries extra weight. This is excellent! It has some earthy spice and a superior crisp dank flavor that melds well with bright tangerine and orange peel in the mid-palate. The finish is slightly chive-y but also a little guava-like with a touch of passion fruit hanging around for good measure. Lingering despite its dryness, THIH really marries quite a few disparate IPA elements of the modern era into a well-made beer... against all odds. Feel is a bit brighter than typical of modern IPAs, but some sites (including this one) categorize this more as a Brut IPA. I'm not quite sure I would think that unless it was marketed that way, but there is a drier feel here than other 4Q IPAs, so maybe. Regardless, this is one of those beers you get one can of just to give it a shot (due to the gimmick, duh) but it impresses you and leads to you wanting more of it. Hopefully I can get some before it goes away for the season!

16 oz can into chalice. No date.
Look is hazy green. Smell is light sweet tropical fruit. Taste is light sweet fruit candy and stays like that throughout. Feel is light. Overall a very interesting beer. Color is what is noticed first. Fairly light feel hides the alcohol well. Easy drink and would drink again.

Pours an ecto-green with a thick head into my glass. Citrus pop upfront, mango and grapefruit and melon rind. Dry, sweet finish isn’t what I expected but makes this beer stand apart from other IPAs. Well worth a try if you can still find it!

This beer is green. No explanation as to why but it’s Halloween themed. I always thought finding a green beer like this was awesome but I can see this becoming a possible trend in the future. For now this is hilarious but I assume would get old as more do it. Aroma has some cooked maltiness but definitely also exudes the hoppy side as well. Flavor is surprisingly very immediately bitter. Almost vegetal. To its credit it’s the driest Brut IPA I have had. Happy Halloween 2 weeks late.

Bought at a can at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow, MA. Holy cow, the beer is green. Like a dark, murky green with a thin head. The hops in the aroma, despite the can saying its loaded with hops, are actually quite subtle and approachable with some typical orange peel with an earthy-like citrus. The taste sort of follows the nose. The citrus hops with flavors like orange, but also bitter lemon, are found with a not too bad piney aftertaste. Good mouthfeel; lightly creamy with a good body. Overall, fascinated by the appearance's unique selling point; otherwise a drinkable IPA.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance, well, I shit none of you, yes, it's a luminous bright green, almost glowing with a small white cap of foamy head quickly sliding off to form concave lace.
The aroma had some bittersweet pine, orange rind, floral sweetness/somewhat lavendar-like and a touch of sweet grass.
The flavor carried the bittersweet pine on into the orange rind and floral sweetness nicely. Definitely has a dry floral and orange rind bitterness in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it due to the dryness. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Finish is dry and semi-grassy.
Overall, I liked this one for me but don't necessarily see it as an American Brut IPA. Still, Brian's creativity is quite unique, I have to admit.
