16oz. can served in my Spiegelau tulip. Pours two shades shy of black with a tight, two inch, khaki-colored head honeycombed with holes and craters. Nose is fairly subdued - hints of raspberry and the merest suggestion of cocoa. Taste reveals huge artificial raspberry notes with some cocoa in the background as well as a hint of char. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a carbonation shy of lively. Overall, not bad but not my thing. Raspberry is a little too artificial and mouthfeel is a little thin.

L — Pours a very dark brown body with two fingers of tan head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and some lacing
S — Raspberry jam, strawberry ice cream, milk chocolate, sherry, maybe a hint of roast. Straightforward but pretty nice
T — Carries over pretty nicely on the flavors, with the roastiness being amplified. Also getting some earthy nuttiness, almost like the shell of a peanut
F — Soft and creamy. Medium mouthfeel, medium carb
O — Four Quarters achieves what they set out to do: create a beer that’s like a raspberry-filled chocolate truffle in a glass
84/100
