Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a milky yellow color with barely any transparency about it. Small cap of a little white foamy head swiftly gliding off to dot the sides of the glass.
The aroma starts off with the sweet and tart edges of passion fruit and guava then runs through a slight kiss of pineapple juice with an ever so slight tickle of a lime/coconut underbelly.
The flavor starts semi-sticky in its sweetness and pushes the "sour buttons" enough to tell me this was meant to be a sour ale. Dry mint leaf. Then that coconut/lime character comes back ever so slightly far underneath. Mild sticky guava sweet aftertaste with a touch of incoming sour tone.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Certain dryness accompanies some coconut character gripping my tongue. Finishes semi-dry with some guava flesh and passionfruit.
Overall, an extremely well balanced beer I'm particularly fond of returning to this time of the year!
