On the sweeter side, but c'mon, with a name that has chocolate in it, I'm looking for a little sweetness. Flavorful without being heavy, it had had a wonderful body and drinkability. I opened it while cooking a steak dinner, thinking if it was too much I'd finish it after dinner. It was good enough and balanced enough to keep drinking it through dinner. It paired great with a T-bone, fire roasted fingerling Yukon Golds, and sautéed baby Bellas in garlic and rosemary butter.
I didn't find the hazelnut, but it's in the top 2 of chocolate stouts for me. The price is a deep breath, I paid $8 for a single pint can. Oof. 4 of those and I can buy a fifth of Woodford, so that part is a tough call. Four Quarters continues to impress me. 2 cans of Spectra in the fridge for the weekend!

Brewed in collaboration with Aardwolf (FL).
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color topped by a thin cap of eggshell white foamy head. It slid off at a fairly quick pace. Just some concave wispy lace.
The aroma seemed to lead with milk chocolate then sweet coffee, somewhat like espresso. Hazelnut was there, but extremely faint.
The flavor seemed fairly close to the aroma in the fact of maintaining that milk chocolate and sweet coffee character before the hazelnut makes a play. Sticky aftertaste of milk chocolate and sweet coffee.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Semi-sticky finish of milk chocolate and coffee bean dryness.
Overall, I liked this one alot for me, however, the hazelnut is so faint in this that it makes me wonder how much was actually put in this. I'd still have again.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like sweet and rich chocolate fudge, Nutella, vanilla, and slight roasted malt.
Chocolate dominates here a bit, but the hazelnut swings in subtly with that creamy nuttiness. There's some vanilla and caramelized sugar, too, and just a little hint of roast. It's sweet but not overly so.
This is very creamy, with a decently thick body, and a decent level of drinkability.
This is possibly a touch too sweet, but it's still quite tasty nonetheless.
