This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a beautiful dark brown close to black color in my glass. Poured a semi-dark brown color. The head was more of a tan color about a quarter finger's worth with some resilience before it died. Light concave lace.
The aroma had some dark chocolate and milk chocolate up front with a light tickle of sweet blueberries. Subtle sweet ashy coffee grounds/beans.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet end through the chocolate tones. Blueberries seem quite faint here. Aftertaste of milk chocolate, the sweet side of dark chocolate and some dark toast.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a sure fine sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. Some stickiness but allowing some enunciating grip on my tongue. Finishes with some roast and milk chocolate.
Overall, as much as I love blueberries in imperial stouts, I gotta admit the faint character of blueberries in this was actually at a nice level as it came out. Would love to have this again!
