still very tasty, but this was my least favorite of the three beers i had in here at the very impressive twin leaf. lots of good beer happening in here, thats for sure. this is a mixed culture dark saison, but its more copper than anything else, not as dark as anticipated, but with a cool tartness to the nose that makes my mouth water and a bright acidity in the taste, clean and mostly bacterial, a little saison funkiness too though. a sweeter and richer grain base than many of these have, but without the roasted darker barley i was expecting when i ordered it, and sort of simplistic for what it is. winey pucker from the wild agents, baked toasted heartiness from the malt, curious but interesting balance between them. not as much carbonation pop as i like in these styles, but the flavors have good continuity and this is pretty drinkable as they go. it could use something though, maybe some fruit, maybe some coffee, maybe more developed wildness, its close, but its not all the way there yet...
