A - Pours pitch black with a fizzy dar brown head. The head fades into a very thin head leaving some light soapy lacing,

S - Aroma is maple, dark chocolate and bourbon barrel.

T - The taste is dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, maple and big barrel notes in the finish.

M - Full body with medium/low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - I was expecting more sweetness from the maple syrup, but very solid.

Pitch black pouring. There's a 1 finger brown head that lasts longer than I would expect for the ABV, however, there's no lacing on the glass.
The nose is a vanilla bomb, that is backed up by the pleasing aroma of maple syrup. I also get a graham cracker note here.
Taste - Not as sweet as I was expecting up front. Quite full of the bourbon barrel flavors at first. This mellows to the vanilla and maple syrup on the back.
The body is very boozy at first, then it mellows out, and smooths out to a soft and full body on the backside.
This is damn tasty, and I am glad it was sent to me.

Poured a black body with minimal head and no lace. Aroma is basically vanilla and booze with hint of maple, but there's a touch of chocolate in there as well. Surprisingly smooth, even creamy, rather easy to drink like it has a nutty or oakiness to it (the bourbon barrels help out big time), with a mix of vanilla and some booze (also the barrels), Finishes easy but warms up over time so made for a very slow sipper but pretty enjoyable, although I can't say I got much in regards to the maple aspect and the chocolate I smelled wasn't there, either.

Bottle received from @ovaltine in a strike from Bif 13

Black motor oil poured poured into an Ipa glass , fizzy one finger brown foam. Cap , good retention , settles to ring with constant carbonation volcanically producing more islands

Aroma is maple and vanilla candy , dark roasts, hint of char

Mouthfeel is heavy, full , syrupy, bit of heat

Delicious beer , thanks @ovaltine

The last of my mini-Transient stash making a waystop in my body before hitting the can. 500ML bottle with a big F--- across the label. It amuses the thirteen year old boy in me.

The pour is it black, as is proper & right, with little to no visible activity. The nose is raging vanilla, sweetness (maple?) & healthy swath of bourbon.

F--- Maple & Vanilla confounds the expectations of this outfielder. Sharp, nearly bitter oak slaps the palate hard up front, temporarily stunning the taste buds & several nearby sheep. Underneath the bellicose wood are second string players of chocolate, mild bourbon, with a finishing sweetness that I assume is a waste of good syrup. Dry. Smaller bottles, please.

Transient stouts generally have a floor of ‘very good’ & swoop upwards quite often from there. This is not of that caliber. Decent.

Thank you ovaltine for this
500 ml bottle poured into a tulip

A- Black with a small dark mocha head

S- Milk chocolate, vanilla, maple, oak, bourbon, roasted malts. On the sweet side but still balanced.

T- Chocolate, fudge, dark chocolate, maple syrup, roasted malts, oak, vanilla, bourbon.

M- Smooth, full body.

O- A very well done and balanced stout, everything comes together in a wonderful harmony. The bourbon barrel and alcohol a noticeable but don’t cross the line to being boozy.

Pours thick and viscous. Black as the darkest deepest woods. Thick bubbly mocha colored head forms on the beer as its poured before steadily dissipating. Ultimately just a thin ring of foam remains on the top fo the beer.

The aroma on this one is just incredible - rich, decadent chocolate, fudge, maple syrup, bourbon, marshmallow, oak, vanilla. It all comes through on the nose in this delicious dessert aroma. However, it is not overly sweet on the nose - you still get the roasted malt notes and the underlying stout coming through.

The taste is no less decadent and delicious. Initially there are notes of roasted malts, chocolate, fudge, bourbon and oak. That slowly transitions to notes of maple syrup, vanilla, marshmallow, and musty oak. Its definitely on the sweet side, but in a very balanced way. The barrel aging is present, but allows the other parts to shine through. It is a bit hot or boozy, but its not distracting - I actually quite enjoyed it.

Feel is full bodied, viscous, and slick. Mild carbonation. A warming finish.

Overall this is a world glass barrel aged stout. Absolutely delicious and expertly crafted.

Straight down the side pour reveals a perfectly black beer with a dark tan head that lingers a bit. The nose reminds me of the fudge my Mom used to make when I was a kid - rich milk chocolate and cocoa aromas that don’t relent, with maple syrup notes that are perfect, and a bit of vanilla. The bourbon barrel is ..... subdued on the nose.

It is not subdued, however, on the taste. It allows the decadent milk chocolate and cocoa notes to shine up front, and it looks slightly askance at the maple syrup as it decides to bust a move, but it puts its foot down and demands to join the vanilla flavor in crashing the party with an oaky booziness that is sublime.

The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, as expected, and I keep returning to that fudgy, boozy, maple flavor that provokes me to keep seeking that next sip. What a pleasure it is to drink this beer.

Just bonkers! So rich and creamy with warming barrel heat. Smooth and no hot booze to speak of. Lightly toasted mallow and milk chocolate shine here. Almost reminded me of a milder Rare with a vanilla addition. Man, I gotta try Rare again!
