Pours onyx black with a sudsy mocha colored head that is surprisingly resilient, leaving a cap around the edge of the beer as you enjoy it. Beautiful imperial stout.
The nose is all about the interplay between the barrels, which provides a nice amount of booze (but not too much), rich cocoa, vanilla, and caramel. This smells magnificent.
It tastes magnificenter, with the rye and the booze preventing this from getting too sweet, but allowing room for the maple, cocoa, vanilla, and especially the decadent caramel to shine, then finishing you off with a nice bit of alcohol warming at the very back of the palate.
The mouthfeel is rich, full, and creamy, commensurate for a beer of this gravity. This beer is an example of Transient at their finest, IMHO. When they’re dialed in, they are tippity top world class, IMHO.

A - Pours pitch black with a fizzy tan head. The heads fades extremely fast
S - Aroma is dark chocolate, maple, rye and bourbon.
T - The taste is dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, maple, rye spiciness and nice kick of bourbon barrel in the finish.
M - Full body with medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a slick dry finish.
O - Really nicely done. The rye barrel cuts the sweetness of the base beer.

Another 500ML bottle liberated from our Miller Lite swigging Neanderthals to the east; split with the wife watching the Twins trying to get back into a tie for 1st place.
The pour is standard stout black; a Crayola color coming soon! Just like Junie, the rye dominates the nose.
Junie Swirl leans into its rye barrel base hard. Big Rye. It should be a country song. The jukebox is loud enough that the balance is near background noise: gentle maple (I like it rougher), vanilla & chocolate blending into a melody of sweetness, offset nicely by the sharper barrel. Caramel is lost in the haze. Moderate body which lends to the drinkability, as does anything rye.
Ultimately a good beer that takes some good components & blends them pretty well.

It’s damn near perfect.
