Like a saison with the volume turned down? Foams up nice to a great crown. Slightly peppery and lemony (not *citrusy*). Notably Belgian. The thing that makes this read more like a saison than a Belgian golden is that it has a more rustic, less refined flavor. Good though.

On tap at Twiggs Gastropub in St. Albans. A hazy golden yellow with a slight greyish tint and thin quickly dissipating head that leaves minimal tracing. Typical saison aroma - yeasty (I'm guessing the Dupont strain) with some spice and fruit. This tastes really nice. Very subtle and nicely balanced. The mouth feel was good, but lacked the proper amount of carbonation, as the beer was completely flat by the time I'd finished half of it. Overall, a really nice Dupont style saison, but IMO should be served with a higher level of carbonation.

On tap at the brewery.
A-Pours a lightly hazy yellow hue with a well sized head despite a sample pour.
S-Mellow with a yeasty scent that is textbook Saison. Lightly grainy with a soft, pale maltiness.
T-Saison yeast, apples, light spice. Crackers. A touch of heat. Sweetness throughout.
M-Medium bodied. Well carbonated.
O-A Saison that preaches balances above anything else. It struggles to stand out to me but I appreciate it's balance and simplicity.

Served in a 32oz "howler" fresh from the brewery.
Pours a cloudy golden color with a yellow hue and little or no head (fades quick). Looks great for the style.
The yeast adds a touch of raisin and apple to a sweet malt base. Very crisp on the nose.
Sweet malt at the beginning followed by a strong dose of apple and raisin from the yeast.
Finishes a little hot with just enough flavor at the back of the throat.
A decent example of the style. I look forward to trying more of their offerings.
