The dark beer for people who don’t like dark beer. Lighter bodied with strong notes of coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma that carry to the flavor. Easily drinkable.

A: The beer is essentially black when viewed from afar. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that gradually died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malts and cola are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional hints of chocolate malts. A light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be quite flavorful considering its strength - it's perfectly sessional.

Has a slightly thin body with a bit more carbonation than I am used to for the style.
Aroma is char, wood, roasted malt, unsweetened bakers chocolate, and just a little dark fruit, licorice and espresso beans.
Taste is a dit dry with more of a hop bitterness than I was expecting. Unsweetened Bakers chocolate, black coffee and mild licorice.
Its a nice beer that was way more dry than I expected.

Moustache draft Porter at local restaurant in Riverhead at lunch in October, 2018. Flavor is a bit thin, but leaves a nice mild hoppy, roasted malt aftertaste. good 4.5% beer to have with lunch.

My second serving, from the tap, at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY.
Pours a dark brown with a creamy head and ultra thin collar. Disapates halfway, no collar or lace retains.
Aroma is nutty, has chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, and vanilla.
Sweet at first and promising. Then, the palate becomes dry, nutty and earthy. Raw grain, earthy hops, moderately bitter, charred wood, woodsy. The aftertaste lingers. A hint of grapefruit, spicy dark bread crust.
Medium bodied, slightly rough and no alcohol detected.
I like how this one started out and it certainly has some complex flavors. However, I feel the texture could have been smoother and that some of the sweetness should have retained longer instead of it being briefly evident in the beginning.

Lives up to its name. A porter but not over the top like many American porters can be. Roasted but still light

Quite possibly the best porter I've ever tasted! Rich and smooth while still session-able.
