picked these up a few days after the release and popped both side by side sharing w the mrs. transparent sienna caramel color but a rich syrupy look...the red wine appear a bit darker. nose is heavy dry red wine...kind of merit but very in your face...almost gives a nail polish remover vibe. a bit of a turn off. the taste however, works better than the nose and though I prefer the base beer alone the red wine adds a very unique and interesting element to the beer. you don't see many red wine aged beers and I think it is for good reason...the flavors kind of clash. fairly smooth and the dryness of the red wine helps the body a bit. really interesting, but like the base 42, do let it warm and open up. I almost drain poured this upon first sip cold but as it opened I found myself enjoying it, but not as much as FL regular 42.
