cascade, centennial, and citra in this fresh and familiar ipa, very northwestern, even quintessentially so, delicious from the tap at the brewery, which is a rad little space well worth checking out! this was one of the better hoppy beers i had while i was in. its not perfectly clear, but it most certainly isnt hazy, and while the hop profile is nothing new, the brightness of the beer and the pop the hops hit with are distinct, and the quality of this beer is immediately obvious. big wet sappy pine and spruce notes up front in the nose, some weed character too, but this isnt stinky in that way, no skunk weed to it, some bitterness obvious as well. the hops carry some bitter orange in the flavor, a cut lawn freshness and earthiness, and a little drying herbal character from the cascade, which to me stands above the others here in the flavor, at least at the climax. more of the citra later, and this mellows some right before the finish, but a pretty robust beer overall and a nice example of the style. not old school, but maybe a tip of the cap to a bygone era of hoppy beer where bitterness was still a big part of the equation. this is beer drinkers beer, and i like that these days where everyone is trying to take the style to milkshake and juice land. well done here.
