500mL bottle purchased at River City Brewing in downtown Spokane for $11.99 before taxes. I'm going this a Belgian Lambic because I'm not sure what else to call it. It's a wine barrel aged sour conditioned on "fresh Washington peaches." Yes, peaches grow in Washington.

Poured into a glass, this looks like a cross between an amber ale and a glass of Rosé. The color is dark amber, verging on kindness, and is lightly chill-hazed. Virtually no head, just a skiff of bubbles formed in a ring that quickly dissipates.

Peachy, tart and acidic nose. Although, per the label, "fun" yeast strains were utilized, I don't think Brett was one of them.

Peach flavor is very apparent in the taste, but it's matched up with a very mildly vinegary tartness that keeps it from being obnoxiously sugary. There's a vaguely vinuous quality that's hard to pin down. I'm assuming the wine barrels used for aging this previously housed white wine, as I think red wine would leave more noticeable traces. Modestly dry and crisp finish.

Light bodied, slightly effervescent mouth feel.

Enjoyable as a late mid-day aperitif. Not something I'd chug all night, although the low abv would probably lend itself to such drinking. Given the choices allowed by BA, I classified this
as a Belgian Lambic. Possibly it might be considered a Wild Ale, as the label refers to "fun yeast strains". I regret not asking the guy at the brewery more about it (I had beer from three local breweries in my car and wanted to get them home to refrigeration quickly).
