-Rye Porter. Canned 11.28.17. Consumed 06.18.18. Chalice.
A: Dark walnut toned head is spongy, porous and long lasting atop a pitch black body. The massive dark coloring head was enough to give this a very nice mocha like topping and feel. Nice visual.
S: Light peppery rye spiciness has dried cola and anise spicing along with peppercorns. The faintest hint of coffee beans and light chocolate mixture.
T: Nice finely ground coffee beans come through for the flavor. Dark, roasty, and oily gives this a wet fine feel and flavor with a flair of peppercorns and rye. Some anise and roasted grains add a nice peppery touch and earthy bitterness. The fine point here is the malting, oily and smooth, with some charred toast and a light smokiness.
M: Medium body, oily roast feel with a roasty, wet warmth against the inner cheeks.
O: Smoky touch with an oily roasty body are the highlight here, smoothly charred and peppery, with a very easy and smooth drinkability factor. Beautiful oily roast finish and English malt feel and a finely brewed porter.

Look- pours about as dark brown as it can be without being black. 1 finger soapy tan head that fades to ring around the edge of the glass
Aroma- bakers chocolate, roasty char, a black pepper spicy zing, coffee
Taste- follows the nose; bitter chocolate, char, black peppery bite and a little smoke. mild hop bitterness in the finish
Feel- light to medium bodied
Overall- really nice porter; the rye kick is a nice addition to the coffee, chocolate and smoke

Conshohocken Brewing Co. "Burn Everything Rye Porter"
$2/4 oz. on tap @ Conshohocken Brewing Co. - Bridgeport Brewpub on 19 August 2017
Look: Deep mahogany brown/ruby body beneath a light tan head that falls shortly and leaves only average lacing (possible dirty bar glass at their own brewpub?).
Smell: Grainy and lightly chocolatey malt.
Taste: Richly grainy malt with chocolate, medium-dark caramel, and a hint of spiciness that must be coming from the rye. Very subtly fruity (apple) from the yeast. Only moderately bitter but still dry in the finish with a hint of spicy pepperiness.
Feel: Medium bodied with a median carbonation. Malty smooth.
Overall: Surprisingly rich malt component due to the grains used, not the volume. Nicely balanced and rounded. I could personally have used a little bit more rye but at the same time it's a "rye porter" and not a "rye beer". Worth trying.

Near black with a lush, long-lasting tan head. Thin sheets of lacing. Roasted malts, nuts and slight coffee in the nose. Strongly roasty taste with a nice, light smoke addition. Touch of chocolate. Slightly sweet. Any hops are only for balance. Medium bodied, moderately creamy, with good carbonation. Very solid.

On draft in shaker pint
Muddy brown in color, not much head. Chocolate and herbal earthy aromas. Slightly sweet flavor, seems a bit yeasty. Medium bodied.

Delicious rye porter, draught pour at Field House. Spiciness of the rye is balanced by caramel and chocolate malts. Wouldn't be a staple in my fridge, but enjoyable periodically.

Poured from a tallboy can into a pint glass.
L: Pours a dark brown color... medium tannish head. Passable lacing.
S: Classic porter... coffee and chocolate... toasted grains.
T/F: Toasted sugars, espresso, and cocoa... follows the nose pretty nicely. Medium in body... good carbonation. Finish is dry with a faint nip of hops.
O: A solid American Porter... very drinkable and worth a trip.
