Weathered copper orange in color with a hazy, unfiltered appearance. Poured with a moderate, creamy, off-white foam that slowly reduced to a soapy cap with good retention. Mellow, lightly dank, over-ripe tropical aromas, orange, pineapple, and melon. Solid malty aroma with hints of caramel alcohol. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation. Light creamy smooth feel through the middle with boozy warmth toward the finish. Medium high citrus orange and sweet over-ripe grapefruit flavors. Medium, hop bitterness through the middle. Solid malty backbone throughout with light caramel notes. Light tropical fruit notes and malty flavors from the middle to the end. Finished with mellow tropical fruit flavors, light spicy hop bitterness, expanding boozy heat and caramel malt flavors. Mellow, fruity, sweet, a little boozy and very drinkable. This was like an old school west coast DIPA without the high hop bitterness. Don’t get me wrong, both are excellent. Very tasty.
