A thanks to the duke of dubbel's, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of mild fruits, a touch of spices. Taste is the same as the aroma, a bit of yeast. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, this beer is very mild for the style.

Poured into a chalice, the appearance had a healthy dark amber to brown color with some rising carbonation bubbles to fill a white semi-foamy head. Good dissipation allowed some messy lace.
The aroma had raisins, Belgian sugars, dark toast, milk chocolate, sweet wood and some vanilla extract.
The flavor fully leads with a certain sweet wrapping together all of those prior mentioned aromas with a slight Belgian spice. This all comes together to form the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and some smoothness but a little throaty as expected for the style, that grip doesn't seem to bother me but I know a lot of people who despise that. Nice finish of Belgian spice, chocolate, and raisins.
Overall, I'd say this works as a pretty good stab by an American brewer for this style.

Not a fan of this style - raisin taste and more.
