Deep brown. Tan head. Smells of cherry pit, mud, coffee grounds, charred malts. Flavors of cherry, stone, dirt, black coffee. Moderate acidity. Dark fruits. The feel is acidic, thin side of medium. Overall a pretty ok oatmeal stout I only drank a little less than half. Not that a beer NEEDS to be remarkable but this one is unremarkable and has a higher than average dark fruit/ berry acidity to it than I prefer in the style.

Sampled in January2021 from 16oz can in pint glass. "Canned on" date of 11/24/2020 was on the can.
Appearance: Pitch black, dark color, and had a 2-finger dark tan head when poured. The head lasted only a very short time, and left almost no lacing on the glass.
Smell: There is a strong coffee aroma detected as soon as the can was opened. Also some roasted malt and some spice and hops bitterness aromas. Nice combination between the various aromas, but the coffee aroma dominates.
Taste: Nice balance of malt and coffee, but again the coffee flavors dominate. There is a hint of sweetness and chocolate flavors that may be due to the malts. There is very little hop bitterness. Overall it has a good taste. The combination of strong coffee and roasted malts flavors give this drink nice flavors.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, and very smooth probably due to the oats. Moderate alcohol which matches with the 5.7% on the label.
Overall: Overall, this is a good drinking beer, and a good oat stout. It is not as strong or complex as an Imperial stout which allows for more glasses. I will buy it again.

Let's see what this is all about. A pint can poured into a clear glass liter mug reveals a liquid the color of black coffee. There's very little tan head and almost no glass lacing. There is a softly sweet aroma of roasted malts present. The taste is a little bolder than the nose forecasts. It's a good rich and slightly bitter burnt flavor. The oats provide a soft landing at the finish. Unfortunately, the mouthfeel is too thin to make this a good stout. Oats Magoats suffers overall because its lack of body.
