Purchased at Pennridge Beverage in Perkasie, PA. 4pk/16oz cans.

Pours a deep brown color as opposed to the normal dark black color of most stouts I’ve had. Mostly opaque. Little to no head on the initial pour.

Aromas of semi-sweet chocolate and a welcoming sweetness.

More of a brown ale taste rather than a true stout. A rather sweet brew with hints of chocolate, cinnamon and a rather bitter aftertaste. I’m not picking up any of the advertised, graham cracker, marshmallow or vanilla that is advertised on the label. The photo and description say the beer is 9.4% but my label says 11%. The 11% ABV is well hidden.

Medium consistency that leaves a sweet bitterness after each sip.

Overall, I was underwhelmed by this beer. From the label, I was expecting a rich, dessert-type stout but it isn’t quite as advertised. Not horrible but by no means my favorite stout. I’ll enjoy the remaining cans but will not seek out in the future…cheers!

Canned on... who the hell knows. I can't even begin to make that sloppy ink out. I will note, however, that my can reads 11% ABV, which is just... damn. This gonna be a big ass beer.

Pours a dark doodoo butter brown. Doesn't exactly look the part. Two fingers of head settles into a rough, lacy seafoam. Does not smell at all like I anticipated. Smells off, though I can't say exactly why. There's no imperial stout roastiness for starters. There's also no graham, marshmallow, cocoa or vanilla. If you breathe deep there's a little booze and leather. But that's about it. Maybe a vague spiciness as well. Weird nose. I do get chocolate and vanilla on the tongue with a back end roast, but there's also a mild cider-y note. Drinks smaller than its ABV. It's not as sweet as you'd think, there's certainly enough bitterness to balance things, but I'm still underwhelmed. I'll give them credit for trying, though. A beer of this size with this many "add-junks" can't be easy to get right.

EDIT: I don't know if I was drunk or high or both when I wrote that, but I was off-base. This beer has a great mouthfeel for starters. Thick and rich and decadent. It tastes awful good, too, even if it doesn't especially remind me of s'mores in any way. And maybe I just had a bad can, but on further inspection, there's certainly no off-notes on the nose, either. This is a solid beer.

Conshohocken Brewing Co. "S'mores"
16 fl. oz. can "CANNED ON 01-13-22". Sampled on 02-05-22.

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured an opaque black body beneath a short head of tan foam. The aroma is sweetish with some caramel, chocolate, and a touch of roastiness. The flavor is much sweeter than I thought it would be, but not overdone. There's some spiciness to it but it's not particularly clear as to what it is. The caramel seems to dominate with the chocolate, spiciness, fruitiness, and roasty character following. It's firmly bitter and well-balanced for what I'm assuming they intended as a dessert beer. It's lightly sweet, caramelish but also kind of like almost-burnt sugar, and a touch spicy and earthy in the lingering finish. You could drink it as a regular beer (I currently am) but I think it would build on your palate if you had more than one. Would it work as an ingredient in an actual dessert? Of course it would, but I'm not sure how much better it would be than just a basic sweet, caramelish, and chocolatey beer. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. I'm not sure on where I stand on this particularly relating to it being a "smore's" beer. It's certainly not the best "s'mores" beer that I've had in terms of recreating the dessert treat, but it's also not the best put together beer on it's own. It's OK but it's not great.

A - Dark brown pour with caramel colored soapy lacing.

S - Marshmallow, chocolate, chocolate roast, and graham cracker on the nose.

T - Chocolate malt, chocolate roast, chocolate char, cocoa, toasted cocoa, graham cracker, and some alcohol.

M - Big body with a soft texture and some prickly carbonation.

O - This beer falls short on the looks because it appears more like a Brown Ale as opposed to an Imperial Stout. However, the taste more than makes up for it with nice chocolate roast and char.
