Lemongrass Ginger Wheat

Half pour at brewery. Medium golden, clear, small creamy head. Faint aroma, lemons. Lemongrass comes through a bit fuller in the taste, and the ginger comes in late for a nice brisk snap. Very mild, but full of flavor. Cloud 9 hit it out of the park today.

yet another beer from these guys that hasnt been reviewed in years that is so much better than the scores show. they definitely must have made some changes shortly before i moved to idaho because every beer ive had in here has been at least good, most of them better than that, this one included. heavy on the lemongrass, fresh as can be, with a light, natural, juicy ginger spice behind it in a mellow and drinkable wheat beer where i can actually taste the malt, and its nice and dry too, refreshing, way summery, so an odd choice for this time of year, but its killer and i want a bunch of them! its fashioned as a wit, but its darker than that, brassy colored, itd be one of the darker wit types ive seen, but the yeast definitely has a bit of an ester to it, and i get an herbal profile here, although im not sure i can place coriander specifically. suffice it to say its wheaty and mellow with some slightly fuller barley malt in the mix, but the lemongrass and all the bubbles lighten it up a lot, and it drinks more summery than it looks by a mile. the ginger is fresh too, and the interplay between them is awesome, i like the lemongrass in the leading role. flavorful and refreshing beer, really good. if its been awhile for you in here, give them another chance, its becoming one of my favorites in town here!

Hazy light orange... Nice white head.... Good lacing.. Crisp wheat flavor.. Lemongrass is light and the perceived sweetness of the ginger works well with the wheat... Very refreshing.
