My tastes definitely lie in the lighter wheat/ale side of things, and this beer is probably one of my top 3 (I also love Mac & Jack's African Amber and Kona Big Wave). The difference being having this locally, and fresh seems to make it absolutely delicious. The Basil is noticeable, but not overwhelming and the honey compliments it perfectly without making the beer seem sweet.

basil is something that has always fascinated me as a beer ingredient, and although there isnt a ton of it out there, i have pretty much loved every beer i have had that uses it, and i was stoked to see such an ambitious and different type of brew on the menu here. its real light, pale golden in color, minimal body, and honestly not a ton going on with the hops, the grain, or the yeast, its simple and straight forward, and i think thats a fine canvas for the honey and the basil, which both might be overwhelmed by more substantial or flavorful base beer. the basil is fresh and natural, green and leafy and with its essence permeating through the nose and taste, delicately done, but definitely readily identifiable here. the honey is floral and also quite mild, subtle orange and elderflower notes to it, sweet but not overly so, and definitely imparts a springtime vibe to this beer. its great with the basil, an unlikely but highly appealing combination. good carbonation keep this drinking easy, and the flavors are all dry and gone by the swallow. this is really neat beer, light enough to be an all evening pint, but interesting too with the basil and the honey playing so well together. i was really impressed with this, great use of these ingredients. i need to get back in here soon!

edit: this continues to be one of the best, yet least talked about beers made in boise, really unique and good. amazing with much of their delicious food too, i cant get enough!

On tap at brewery. Hazy golden pour, small creamy head, fine rings of lacing coat the glass. Mild herbal aroma, fuller savory/sweet flavor. Almost peppery, but honey smooths it out. Sweet, mildly dry finish.

Tap at the brewery, mostly clear golden, foamy white head with decent lacing .. Good spicy basil sweetness is balanced by honey essence.. Better than previous iterations. Basil is clean and not muddy at all.. A little sweet for my palate, but I see finally what they are going for and think it just needs a little bit more balance.
