after a long spell of sobriety, i think i wanted a little more from this one, maybe one of their weaker offerings i have had so far, but in the context of every day drinking, maybe its better than it seemed to me tonight. a lightly brassy pale ale type, low alcohol but thankfully not that simple, its just sweeter than it maybe should be, although i do like the fresh lemony and botanical note to the hops both in the aroma and the flavor here. through the short white head i smell copper tones, toasted or kilned malts, bread and biscuit, crusts and hearth, honey and generic grain sweetness. the hops seem fresh, but the beer seems oddly heavy for what it is, not drinkable by the pint even though it suggests in the name and menu it should be. i found it nice with the incredible lamb sandwich they had on special in here, but this isnt a beer i would want outside of a food context, and being a little filling, i dont think it really serves its stated purpose all that well. ill give them a pass on it, because i like everything else they do. its just okay...

Kind of underwhelming, not very hoppy, and bone dry. Overall flat appearance and taste, would be a great food accompaniment, but on its own kind of bland.

Draft at the brewpub tonight... had this one at least 3x times now ... Pours a little hazy light orange.. White head has okay retention and spotty lacing. Nose and flavors are pale malt forward with a light dusting of citrus hoppiness.. dry and grainy.. Not trying to be insulting, but this smells and tastes like a homebrew... Okay, but seems really muddy and needs cleaned up. It takes a good brewer to make really nice low ABV brews. Check out some of best Utah low ABV beers are packed with flavor.
