Draft at Cloud 9. Cloudy, dark amber pour, thin ring of fine bubbles. Light sweet, malty aroma, honey. More honey in the taste, but not too much, caramel, malty, well balanced.

i loved this beer, its a style you so rarely see, and each one is always so unique. i think i know this to be a german style brew done with honey, but i have seen it vary in color from near blonde to porter-esque, this one looks like a lighter brown ale in the glass. they have it listed as kottbusser oktoberfest on their menu, but i dont believe this is a lager, however, adding it as such seemed the closest to right, we dont have a listing for this style here on BA yet, if anyone has more information, i am all ears! i love the beer, the honey element is obvious, nice with the darker european specialty type malts this is build around. i get notes of unlit cigar, dry baking cocoa, and dried flowers. uniquely delicate for a beer of this color too, and there is a yeast component that i cant quite place, but this seems timeless and modern at the same time, so hard to do! not much sweetness from they honey after the midpoint or so, more cocoa and dry earthy malt at the end, like dark bread or something. as flavorful and unique as this is, its also incredibly drinkable, and i find myself working through the pint pretty expediently, i could make a night of this one for sure. the beer here on our recent trip was amazing, seems like these fall seasonals is what they do best, i may have to back for more of this one over the weekend here, its just fantastic! i wish more brewers would tackle this style, never had one i didnt like, as different as they always are...
