Draft at brewery. Hazy amber pour, light soapy head. Aroma is malty, brown bread flavors. Tastes like a hoppy version of their festbier. Lightly hopped, so taste is still malty. Underwhelming.

a new american ipa in here, clear and balanced, a littler fuller on the malt side which is nice for fall, and with their house ale yeast doing its thing in a favorable way. these guys make all kinds of hoppy stuff, and so little of it seems modern. this is grainy, moderately bitter, and rather west coast and old school in nature, despite the freshness and pungency of the hops, its about more than the dry hopping for sure, and there is some definite medium crystal malt in the mix, but its drinkable and tasty, nicely proportioned, and autumnal to me. the hops have some grapefruit and woodsy character, very fresh, while the grain is toasted and warming with a light honey note. none of their beers seemed all that carbonated in here this time around, maybe an issue across all current batches, but this one could use a little bit of a lift as well. i like a hearty and balanced ipa this time of year, but would be much less stoked on this in warm weather. nicey executed overall, perhaps not their most memorable offering, but its always good to see some innovation in here, i love what they do!
