good newer one here from these guys, their beer is pretty much always well executed, fresh, and when they tackle classic styles, they do them well. this is a touch old school, but not archaic. this looks brick red, amber beer more than ipa, more malt than it needs visually for the style, but at the same time, it doesnt feel heavy or taste all that sweet, so some of this is more visual than anything. there is a nice nutty low end, a little cooked malt richness, but its well behind the hops in both aroma and flavor, im not complaining about it. the nose is fresh, woodsy, and with some bright citrus that really pops, its not unique in terms of profile, but it is in terms of where it hits, right up front and right away, and thats true in the taste too, the malt is oddly less relevant than it looks like it has to be here, and the ferment is minimal if anything, real tidy. love the pine, orange, and lime vibes this brings, as well as the oily dankness of the feel, it stays on my tongue but isnt harsh, and has a lot to give as it warms too. nice beer overall, seems like a bit of an older schoo recipe, but the hops burst right away, the bitterness is on point, and this is really dialed in. happy to have this place to hit up locally here in boise, i feel like they are one of the best but constantly fly under the radar. this is exceptional even if its also somewhat basic, sometimes thats the hardest thing to do...

Draft at Cloud 9. Hazy amber with a soft, bubbly off-white head. Light citrus aromas in the nose, caramel. Taste seems evenly split between sweet, toasty malts and citrusy, fruity hops. I guess this would fall into that hazy NW style that seems to be cropping up.
