Collaboration with Claremont Craft Ales
Tiki Hut Dry is a marriage of IPAs from two of L.A.'s family-owned craft breweries. It starts with the bone-dry malt bill of Claremont's Mosaic Dry IPA and blends it with the multi-layered hopping of King Harbor's Tiki Hut IPA. The result is a super crisp, incredibly aromatic, and truly unique among IPAs.

Picked this up at Windmill Farms, along with a bunch of other beer. Had given regular Tiki Hut at 3.79 when I reviewed it in August 2017 (logged it on Beer Advocate on Sept. 13, 2017). The part that made me want to try was the addition of Claremont Ales Mosaic Dry IPA. If you put Mosaic in a beer, I will want to try it. This would be my first beer from Claremont as well. Poured a straw, clear color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass, looking like a snow globe. World-class spiderweb lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Ha. First thought on the nose was dry-hopped Mosaic. Also got the Citra from the Tiki Hut. Also grapefruit, papaya, tangerine, pineapple, orange, melon, mango and hints of blueberry late. More mango and pineapple from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste followed the nose for the most part. First thought was it was really sweet. Specifically got dry Mosaic, melon, papaya, mango, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, buttered white bread, peppery spice, orange, sugary Citra, mixed berry and guava. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Spicy, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was a pretty good IPA overall. I’d have it again. (Overall - 3.75)
