From the mind of Woody Barrelson: our 11th Anniversary Saison is a refined French-style ale brewed to celebrate every lap around the sun. Light-bodied and dry, it opens with bright pear added during fermentation and a soft herbal spice from the French Saison yeast. Time on French oak chips, previously soaked in Drylands Sauvignon Blanc, adds a graceful touch of white wine tannin and notes of passionfruit. The result? Crisp, lightly tart, and layered with subtle complexity.

On draught at the brewery. Served in a plastic cup. I could not discern the color but it sports a small, foamy head. The smell features ripe pear, along with lemon and traditional Belgian spicing. The taste follows although the sweet pear dominates the Belgian farmhouse flavors. This ale us well-bodied and carbonated and the 7.1% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, a fine Saison for Logboat’s 11th anniversary.

11th Anniversary beer on tap at Logboat. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of pear, lemon, spices and caramel. Sweet caramel taste with pear, toffee and spices.
