Just as it sounds, the Simpel is the most basic of our offerings. The Simpel is the lightest, but is also the hoppiest beer Overshores makes. It is refreshingly dry and crisp unlike heavy and sometimes sticky IPA’s. With a bright aroma from Overshores signature Belgian yeast, the Simpel is a perfect refreshing beer for a hot summer day.

reviewing a refrigerated 11.2 oz bottle of this beer. I bought it at the brewery about 8 years ago and simply havent opened it. So here we go. The beer is poured into my chalice and is a golden to copper color with minimal fizzy bleached white head foaming up about .5 cm. I leave about 1.5 oz in the bottle to not pour out the dredges in the bottom of the bottle.
This foam fades to a wispy edging and leaves some scattered lattice on swirls. Several active streams of carbonation rise to the surface but dont replenish the foam.
Aroma is pretty nice for an old beer. I get some light clove and general yeasty notes with hints of lemon too. No real hoppiness and certainly no booze.
First sip reveals a light texture and very fine and prickly carbonation. Almost too fizzy and sharp. texture is smooth to watery and beer drinks super easy on the physical traits.
Flavor is some scone or biscuit then some cloves, and here I get white grape too. Finish has a little bit of lemon and more grape on also. Overall the beer is pretty easy to drink and seems tasty, no idea if this is how the beer tasted fresh, but it isnt bad today either.

A: cloudy (bottle conditioned); because of the cloudiness, it's an odd light brown; very little head and it disappeared quickly; no lacing;
S: more fruit than I expected; very nice; Belgian yeast, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, and orange;
T: while you definitely get the Belgian yeast, there is more fruit (especially grapefruit and lemon) than I expect from this style and I'm happy about that; there is a tartness from the citrus that is very refreshing; almost no bitterness;
M: light bodied; light carbonation;
O: a very enjoyable beer;

This is a good tasting beer that seems to be an American take on a Belgian pale ale. Typical Belgian spicing with a slight nod to American hopping. Very enjoyable beer.

A: Hazy. Golden. Massive head that dissipates slowly (Overflowed the glass)
S: Citrus. Lemon. Sweet. Slight smell of rotting fruit throughout.
T: Citrus. Orange/lemon. Sweet. Bitter finish.
M: Fizzy. Well balanced.
O: Expected it to be a high ABV, but it's only 4.0%; full of flavor! Well hopped. It's like a cross between a wheat beer and an IPA. I would gladly get this beer again. Very good for a session. Only fault is the rotting fruit smell, but that hardly detracts.

Served in a tulip glass. Slightly hazed straw yellow colored with streams of fine bubbles rising up to a fluffy white head of meringue that lingers long. Delicate aroma of floral hops, some lemon and mild yeastiness. Very dry mouthfeel with tingly carbonation leads to flavors of lemon and clove, mild yeast funk, some floral notes. This makes me want some mussels and a big hunk of gruyere.
