Dark copper hued body; one-finger thick foamy head that slowly fades to a thin wisp of suds. Nutty, bread crust aroma. The taste follows along the lines of the smell; mild roasted grain character and faint suggestions of brown sugar. Somewhat thin and watery body but with a gentle warmth.
A solid little malt-forward beer, easy on the alcohol content yet delivering respectable nutty and roasted grain flavors.

a new can from these guys, a fine english mild ale, not enough of these out there, especially the dark ones, and the canned ones, this definitely fills a niche i think, a void in the marketplace here in colorado. one of the better beers i have had from these guys, it has a nice bready rich english ale yeast to it, allowed to ferment warm enough to be flavorful. it also has a pretty solid toasty nutty malt base without much sweetness at all. the flavor is pretty classic for the style, but perhaps just a little darker in the grain, not quite to the chocolate threshold, but close. fluffy feeling too for a nice low alcohol beer, expansive and well carbonated almost creamy, very nice there. i get a sort of pie crust flavor form the grain and yeast together that i think defines this one. overall a cool beer that doesnt have many local competitors, and a potentially very versatile food beer. a weird time of year for it now though, this screams early fall and grilling to me, but good beer works all year round, and this is a good one from these guys.

Had a pint at the Terminal bar at Union Station. Overall, too dry. The aroma is a bready caramel, but the flavors thins out with toffee and toast crust. It's borderline astringent, and I'm a guy that likes a dry, sessionable beer. It's clean, but I wouldn't recommend it, despite wanting to like it.
