i enjoyed this one mightily, especially with a spicy chicken sandwich at the location on broadway. these guys really are making a lot better beer than they seem to be getting credit for, and this session ipa with green tea is both summery and excellent, as well as a perfect companion to some of the heavier and heartier food they do in here! a little hazy but really bright and active from the tap, creamy headed and fizzy. aroma is great, some dry earthy bitterness from the tea, but instead of a dried grassy thing like european hops, its fresh and new tasting, alive, growing still even, but not overpowering like some tea beers can be, and beautiful with the citrusy and pineapple forward hops they have used to dry hop this with (i would imagine!). the flavor is pure refreshment, especially against the backdrop of this spicy chicken sandwich. bursting hops cut through the pale malts and the tea really easily, but its so light, almost tangy with some fresh lemon notes. the tea is there, more subtle than the nose though, but gorgeous with the hops. fresh cut pineapple and light dill in here, and an almost saison yeast vibe, although that cant be what they have used, i get flashes of white wine and dried herbs at the end, the tea is really cool! there is literally to limit to how much of this i could, and want to, drink. its dry and interesting, hoppy but distinct, and really something quite special that may forever fly under the radar. they absolutely nailed it, i hope it sticks around! perhaps the best tea beer i have ever had!
