one of the more sturdy ipa types in their arsenal here, a little copper color to it, a tall white head from the tap, and lots of bubbles rising up, its a quite pretty beer if you dont mind a little malt shade to your hoppy beer. aroma is super fresh, like it has just been brewed, with a light pine note through it from the hops, kind of a wintery complexion with that and the slightly richer grain base, hearty and sturdy, but not filling when i start drinking it, the body is remarkably light for the flavor depth and the color, not what i expected at all, and the high carbonation really keeps it moving, it drinks way lighter than it should for its complexity and strength. the hops turn in more of a citrus direction later on, a bitter orange peel element, a fleshy grapefruit thing even, really nice against the spicy and oily fried chicken in here, we had it with wings and it was really a pretty perfect match. an impressive ipa here, enough going on to keep me engaged, and great with the robustly flavored food in here. these guys never get enough credit for their beer, its always solid.
