A blend of 5 different malts gives this seasonal German-style lager its beautiful copper hue and a solid malt profile without being overly sweet. A lengthy cold-maturation and subtle hop bitterness lend to its drinkability.

Unexpectedly excellent! Hailstorm normally has very good beers, but I am a Marzen fan and this absolutely crushes. Served on tap in a one liter glass mug, the color is perfect, the taste is exactly what I look for in a Marzen.

Canned 8/16/21; drank 10/1/21 @ the Yarchives.
See-through golden appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; minimal lace.
Burnt wood, caramel & acorn notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel & acorn flavors; on the thicker, more caramel heavy side of the Oktoberfest scale, but it's not bad.

Chestnut brown clear body with a big light tan head that slowly fades. Smell is more on the bread and caramel side of the marzen spectrum, with a hint of toast. Taste has more depth than smell, giving the drinker a nice tour of bready malts: toast, bread, and dough, plus caramel, toffee, slight grassy hops, and a hint of roasted nuts. Very malty. Feel has a decent crisp finish, though not the most refined, but this is a malt lovers marzen for sure, with smooth, bready, and heavy malts. The wife loved it.
