Had on tap at The Map Room (served a bit cold for my tastes for a style I like warmer.)
Good Looking doppel, dark ruby body with lace the depth of the glass.
Smells are average as I prefer a full-on roasty and this only shows in the after-Taste; probably bumped by the hop selection.
Tastes are well-balanced; in fact, never sweet (which I imagine hard to achieve in this style.) Semi-dry finish, though not as soft as the best Doppels.
I was hard on Hailstorm in my two previous reviews (both me-too IPAs), so I reviewed their website and decided they deserve some OA Hugs. They are just over five years old and have diversified into the obscure stuff like barrel-aging and even have a couple of saisons and triples I wouldn't mind finding.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
