*Edit: Just had the Bruery's Tart of Darkness, and I can't believe how similar these beers are!
A: a really dark, reddish-brown saison. I believe this is a rye saison? Never had a saison this color.
S: Lots of sour and maple syrup notes. Some hints of caramel and toffee, too. Really, so much maple syrup.
T: light on the front, but with really great funk in the middle and some burnt toffee inn the end. A little oak-y too.
M: light, biting carbonation with no head foam smoothness.
O: A beer that is truly more than the sum of its parts. This is a light, refreshing, sour, and lightly funky saison. A unique beer really worth trying. The tastes may be a bit divisive, but everyone in my group who tried it liked it. Worth trying for the sour and funk for sure, plus I've never had such a dark saison. Definitely recommend.
