another great hoppy brew from comrade. is this the one that one a medal this year? its radiantly clear, shiny like polished crystal in the glass, and a warm sunny brassy orange color with a full inch of white head slowly fading. on tap at park burger rino. it smells really fresh, oily, and big, but the types of hops dont jump out at me as really unique, or as readily identifiable. not sure which all varietals are in here, or are being grown in colorado for that matter, but as fresh and goopy oily as they are, they are somewhat generic. pungent hop aroma and flavor, and its not all citrus, although thats the major family i think. i get a lot of grassy vegetal stuff too, which i think gives the beer a more dynamic flavor, especially in the finish. i cant taste alcohol at all, and there is more than just a pale two row gain bill, giving it a little more cereal character and sweetness to match the hops. long finish too. one thing though is that it doesnt warm up real well, like a lot of these beers open up with a few degrees, but this one kind of falls apart. it gets sharp, more bitter, and dead flat after a few minutes out, and its like the hop aroma that makes this awesome just evaporates or dissipates or something, so drink it quickly. these guys have found a real nice niche with the hoppy beers, this one is killer. i would love to try the oregon edition...

edit: bumpin up a few scores as this wet hopped treat seems to get better every year, and this year its downright incredible! not to be missed folks!

Poured from growler into odell tulip.
pours a deep gold, thin white head that disappates into a light ring. Seems viscous, clings to glass when swirled.
The nose is where this beer shines. It is literally like sticking your nose in a sack full of hops. Thick resin, some citrus poking through with a sweet malt background.
hop oils coat the tastebuds with the bare hint of malt to carry it on, lingering bitterness that borders astringent as it warms.
medium mouthfeel, a bit more viscous than anticipated.
overall, a good wet hopped beer I would have agian, but couldnt drink much of.

I'm a huge sucker for fresh hopped beers and this one sure hits the mark. Heavenly wet hop smell you would expect with a really nice almost chewy hop taste. I just wish the flavor would stick around longer, but then again, it must be time to take another sip. I very much prefer this to regular superpower, I'm also not head over heals for it like many others.

I enjoyed this beer at Falling Rock Taphouse, and I was blown away. The smell alone was amazing. If there was one beer that I had to drink for the rest of my life, this would be it. I am a big fan of the fresh hop variety, and this one tastes fresher than any other I've tried.

On tap at Comrade.

Nose is very nice, full of hops. I enjoyed this one more than its brother, Superpower. Very solid IPA and shows other CO breweries how a wet hop IPA is done.

Really wish they'd can or bottle!
